PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
The All Saints Program provides a nurturing environment for children to develop a positive attitude for learning through challenging and exciting daily experiences. Initiative and curiosity are encouraged through the use of a variety of exploration materials, opportunities, and activities that promote engagement in learning and concept development. A child-oriented curriculum integrates math, science, social studies, music, art, language/literacy, and fine and gross motor goals for learning through center and small group activities. The PreK Program develops and strengthens social skills such as cooperation, assertion, negotiation, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. The primary goal is for the child to experience a strong sense of success that builds self-confidence in learning and motivates the child to inquire, investigate, explore, and reach for new learning while acquiring the social skills to become a responsible citizen. Parents are seen as an essential part of the education process and encouraged to form a partnership with the teachers and child.
The DLM Early Childhood Program provides the foundation for the PreK curriculum. It elaborates and strengthens the skills, concepts, and attitudes learned in Preschool 3. Children at this age are adventurers and explorers and eager to learn. They learn best through concrete exploration of materials and participation in a variety of activities in centers or teacher-directed groups that address the learning goals of the program. Social and language skills are taught and practiced throughout the day. The teachers provide a positive and supporting atmosphere that leads students toward the next level of cognitive understanding.
