COMPUTER Studies at All Saints Lower School
All Saints School is fortunate to have a Lower School computer lab, complete with 15 Compaq Deskpro computers and a wide variety of educational computer software. Children from Preschool 3 through Fourth Grade attend computer class. Class time is divided between educational games and writing exercises. Educational games focus on reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Children learn important keyboarding and mouse skills, as well as have an opportunity to apply these skills while writing or playing games. We have more than 30 different educational programs, geared for a variety of age groups. Writing projects are age appropriate and are often integrated with current classroom lessons. Fourth grade students are also introduced to the internal hardware of a desktop computer. Their knowledge is put to the test when they disassemble computers and identify the components and their functions.
